What is
PRF?

Platelet Rich fibrin or what is also known as ( L-PRF), is a by-product of your own blood that is rich in platelets and Leukocytes (White Blood cells) present in a complex fibrin matrix to accelerate the soft tissue and hard tissue healing. Since it is made entirely from your own cells, it is completely compatible with your own body. It possesses amazing natural healing properties and is used often in dentistry. Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) was first pioneered by Dr. Joseph Choukroun, a physician in France, practiced as a cardiothoracic surgeon and an anesthesiologist.

What are the benefits of PRF?

  • Faster healing after wisdom teeth extraction and dental implant placement
  • Decreased chance of dry socket teeth extraction
  • Increased early blood supply to the extraction site
  • Increased blood supply and stability to bone graft site for implant placement
  • Less pain and swelling after dental surgery
  • Helps in gum regeneration
  • Heals mucosal margins which sutures can’t heal
  • Prevents and treats infection
  • Speeds up wound healing
